Today, I built a huge working rocket based off of the Saturn V and use it to go to space - all made possible by Create mod, Valkyrien Skies, Cosmic Ho...

7:30 This is because Valkyrien Skies uses spheres to make up the hitboxes of ships, and when a ship has a large quantity of blocks those spheres get less and less accurate to a cube. This is probably why it likes "sliding" away so much, because its actually rounded (it also causes the levitation). You can get around it by increasing lod (by a large amount, usually about 1 lod per block your ship has), but its still annoying.
Also thanks for using starlance! :D

If you told me ten years ago when Galacticraft came out that this is what you could make and do in Minecraft, I wouldn’t have believed you. This is so cool!

With the way the CSM is acting as the lander it’s actually quite similar to Nova rocket which was designed for a direct ascent moon mission (whole craft lands and takes off) and was effectively a larger Saturn V with a CSM based lander stage
Also as mentioned by others the spire on the top was actually the launch escape system which contained solid rocket motors designed to yeet the command module away from the rocket in case of a failure. It was jettisoned in flight to save weight once outside the atmosphere

For stage separation: The mod ControlCraft has the block "Spatial anchor", which does exactly what you need.

Kerosene is actually exactly what the saturn 5 used! The first stage of the rocket used kerosene and liquid oxygen, while stages 2 and 3 used hydrogen instead.

You could use the sticker block to connect the stages, as with VS addition it works now.

Just for information's sake, the "spire thing" on top of the Saturn V (which is also atop the Mercury, Gemini. and other similar capsules) is itself a Solid Rocket Motor. It's part of the launch escape system, designed to wrench the crew capsule free of the rocket at blisteringly high speeds in the unlikely event that there was a catastrophic failure of the launch vehicle during the initial stages of flight.
