With a little polishing you can directly use a lens printed in clear resin on an mSLA resin printer. I've had better luck doing that than I have with casting the lens (when casting, it's often a good idea to use a vacuum chamber and/or a pressure chamber to remove bubbles in order to achieve the best clarity/surface finish, and I have neither of those). There are photos of the resulting lens in my ongoing build thread on Rebel Droids. (Edited to remove typo)
