YouTube's automatic subtitles are translating "meth" as "mathematics" in Brazilian Portuguese, and I'm very afraid of mathematics from now on.

Just real shoutout to Anydesk for having the balls to sponsor this. Wish more companies wouldn't shy away.

As a former IV meth and heroin/fentanyl user, (sober almost 3 years), I can't bring myself to watch too far into this video, but I thank you for drawing more attention to this, and I respect the sponsor of this video for not shying away from such a topic.

As someone who has had their addictions, one thing I wish people could know is how hard your brain will turn on you. One second you’re fully committed to turning it around, and the next it’s like there’s a foreign voice in your head saying “But why stop? You feel terrible we can fix it just a phone call away and we can feel bliss again” and then that voice turns into an internal scream so fast. Anyone that’s battling I believe in you and with enough perseverance you can get that voice to shut up

I'm from Australia where we have the highest meth addiction rate in the whole world. It has destroyed whole communities and is becoming an increasingly big problem. I was addicted to IV meth for a couple years but in those years I completely lost who I am and destroyed my physical and mental health. An addiction to this drug truly does destroy the mind and soul. I'm so proud of everyone who escaped the clutches of this addiction. Thankyou so much to the fern team for shedding light and humanising people with substance use disorder!

This stranger is immensely proud of Dominic and Ashley for kicking their addictions. What a huge accomplishment.

Hi a Czech guy here, I want to share something. If you live in czechia not in the center of the city then you 100 percent came to contact with this substance. You go for a walk and see metheads everywhere but the problem is in the agression. Ive been doing mma for 4 years now, once i went to my training and some guy wanted to fight... He was fat and visibly unexpirienced BUT never got tired... he was like a machine... its kinda scary...

My best friend got into it in high school. When we graduated he had already lost a lot of weight but he was still about 200lbs. He essentially stayed up for about 90 days only taking “naps” every few. I watched him snort a little more than a quarter gram and then dose off. He thought he lost his stash one bender ripping his entire room apart before leaving his parents house with his gun, he text his mom “I love you” then shot himself. His mom and step father found him about a mile away in a parking lot. He was about 115lbs or less, we found his stash in a pair of jeans pocket. It literally destroyed his entire body and mind. R.I.P. Tyler. It was 20 years ago this past August.
That stuff is the devil! Please don’t try it if you never have. Even after quitting it changes things that never go back to “normal.”

A sponsor that doesn't shy away from this kind of taboo topic (but a topic that is crucial to be discussed and talked about) is really impressive. Idk anything ab anydesk but kudos to them honestly, they have smart people on board.

I loved my dance with Crystal. For a good 4 years. Until it wasn't fun anymore. Then it took another 4 years fighting addiction and shadows. I've been off for over 15 years now, and i miss it, but if i use it again I'm afraid of losing my family. My life is for my wife and children now.

Czech perspective:"Oh, video about meth in Germany! I wonder how long before Czechia gets mentioned."... Didn't think that "Before it even started properly." will be the answer... 😀

1:10 Here from Czech republic. Meth is extremely common here. You can go to any train station and you'll see people in their 20s (mostly even younger) giving you the "meth stare". It's creepy af.
Knew this guy from high school who did meth. Have no idea if he got high while in school but he was always super tense and impulsive. If anyone did a slight joke he said he was going to stab them with a knife he had on him. No idea if it was just his personality or meth/withdrawals. Maybe both.
Also as far as I know, meth is 99% of the time injected here. Also it doesn't have clear crystal look but rather small white/yellowish color (impurities) powder, making it better soluble in water for injecting.
4:37 meth is often called pervitin in here or other word derivatives such as "perník" meaning gingerbread or "piko" meaning spades.
All right I'll stop yapping now. Just thought I could put my interest in addictology to good use.

NEVER EVER TRY IT. Not even once.
Not because its so horrible but because it feels so unbelievably good that it will haunt your dreams for years afterwards.
Was on it for 2 years. Sober for 9 years. It took 5 years before I stopped dreaming about it and thinking about it every...single...day.

I was a heroin addict for 30 years, using meth occasionally (in between attempts at getting clean)... what a truly horrid existence. I've been clean for 10 years, but watching videos like this brings it all back and makes a deep pit in my stomach. Drugs are just insidious, every day was a battle. I'm in a much better environment and mental space now, but what a nightmare existence that was. Much love to anyone who has conquered addiction (or least has a firm grip on it); always stay vigilant because all it takes is one bad day and a bit of complacency for it to all come crashing down. It took 23 trips to rehab before I finally had enough and decided I wanted to live. It's exhausting. Stay strong people!

My uncle was addicted to meth while i was a kid, he was married, had his own place, things seemed to be going good for him. But when the meth took over, he tore his own face up scratching at crawling feelings under his skin. He forgot half of who he was, and how to talk. He now lives in my grandma’s garage, just a shell of a man that rummages for food and goes back to his iPad. Sometimes we have to buy him new laptops or tablets because he’ll go crazy and break things. My mom takes him to doctors and therapists week to week, but I don’t think he’ll ever be back.
