Hey, First dev here! Absolutely amazing to see how you went through the levels, especially the last one. My design for it was not at all how you guys solved it which made this 10 times better lmao. Happy I got to participate!

Thanks so much for playing the game! I'm the developer behind the second game (the one with Life and Death). It was such a fun challenge to build this in just a week, and seeing you both play through it and talk about the mechanics really made my day ๐
You're absolutely right about the platforming physics โ I wish I had more time to fine-tune things like coyote time and jump smoothing! I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback, and Iโm so glad you enjoyed the concept and atmosphere.
If anyone has questions about how I made it or just wants to chat about game dev, feel free to reach out!
Happy for participating!

Rameez here from Foram Studios ๐๐ป (3rd game)
It was so fun working on this and watching you guys play was even better. ๐ I'm so glad you liked it.
Btw another way to complete the level was turn off the laser, quickly swap in the enemy other than the one who turns the light back on and take him to the one who turns the laser on, when you interact, they both start talking and lasers don't get turned back on and rest is same ๐
Very happy to participate

Iโd never heard the term โCoyote Timeโ and it is great.

The concepts for the first two are brilliant! They definitely feel like something you would see in a Game Jam. The Artstyle for the second one (Life-Death) is really nice. Would love to see some of these be turned into fully fleshed out concepts

Feel like there's something profound in "death can't double jump."
I love the comment about gravity in games. I have at several times in my life measured/thought about the acceleration of gravity in a video game (nerd alert), and it is quite fascinating to me how it is almost never something like a constant 9.8 m/s^2 (nor should it be generally if I am to be tbh). It is really interesting to think that other, more variable forms of gravity often just work/feel better for a human playing a game, and I am glad that is something that game devs actually take into account.

I think the first one would for real make a fun spiritual successor to portal. The third one actually has a concept that I toyed with for a murder mystery game idea that I had a couple of years ago (but never had to skill to make)... crazy to see the same conceptual key mechanic used in a very different game type!

If anyone wants to make a Hitman-type game where you play as a changeling who can take on anyone's appearance in order to infiltrate an enemy base but the other NPCs will see through your disguise if you don't correctly act like the person you're impersonating, I'd play the shit out of that

I've randomly watched a few videos of yours, but that "Oh, and in case you're wondering" just sealed it for me and I had to subscribe. You've earned it.

An interesting variant on running a game jam. Love seeing the results!

12:20 I assume what it's doing is that you are switching damage and Typing of the enemy meaning if you are weak to a damage type you can just swap to the correct one to win. So when you switch you take the leaf typing from the dragon and give it your previous water typing. Then you win.

That quick smash/pass bit gave me a laugh.

"I have to interact with the laser, go over here, interact with the guard because you need a, you need to, he turns this back on but if you put a monkey in front of it he can't touch it." This makes less sense the more I read it, but I enjoy it the same every time.
Great work from and well done to all involved. Second game reminded me of MANDAGON, a free game on Steam that has a vaguely similar art style and is also about life and death. It may contain the 2D Journey temple art vibes you are looking for.

That's incredible for only one week. My favourite thing about this is that each one of the 4 is completely different from one another. Amazing

I thought of a world war 1 trench warfare management style game where you have to keep yourself alive defending and attacking but ever so often there's a ceasefire and that's an opportunity to trade and swap items with the soldiers on the other side. It could be a reallx interesting storyline where you can see the consequences that your army's attacks have on the "enemy". The endgoal would be just to survive x days and get home but there would be choices yoi could make to save as many lives as possible on both sides. To build solidarity between the fighters and help people desert or deny orders to shoot people who aren't a threat to you.
