It's funny how saving the planet always equates to giving the government more money.

In the US state of Maryland they passed a “Millionaire “ tax years ago to raise more money for the state. The next year they were surprised to find the tax hadn’t increased their revenue any. They did an analysis and discovered many millionaires simply moved out of the state. People aren’t stupid.

Germany is turning slowly into a dystopian nightmare.

Getting closer to either Logan’s Run or Soilet Green!

That residential space tax in Bonne reminds me of Dr. Zhivago's home when they were chastised for having so much space for so few people , so they moved a bunch of people into they're home with them whether they liked it or not .

Notice it's a residential tax, never mind that the bulk of energy consumption is by industrial buildings, but corporations have well paid law firms. This is an attack on those who cannot defend themselves.

It’s time to rise up people

A couple of points: 1) Trees, vegetables, herbs, and other green growing life (i.e., plants) REQUIRE CO2 to live. I'm not sure how cutting back on CO2 emissions from home heating, for example, is good for the planet. Less CO2 means that plants can't make as much cellulose (which is the woody components of their structures, including stems, leaves, bark, branches), and less sugars for their edible parts (fruits, berries, etc.). It also means that plants will release less O2 into the atmosphere as a result of photosynthesis. The larger share of the O2 we humans and other animals rely upon to live is released into the atmosphere by photosynthetic plankton in the oceans. They too must have CO2 in order to carry out photosynthesis. So, how are those two consequences (less food, less O2 to breathe) good for the planet? 2) The article re: droughts that you summarized seemed to infer that if people use less water, then there won't be as many droughts. That is laughable. Droughts are a weather phenomenon caused by solar radiation, evaporation of water from the oceans, and air currents. There is nothing about decreased water use by humans that would affect either the frequency or severity of draughts. Europeans (and we Americans, for that matter) are being played for fools. Real science - science that is not bought and paid for by the ruling class - does not validate or support either assertion (re: CO2 or draughts). It might be time for citizens of the EU and non-EU countries alike to wake up. What freedoms you still have in your day-to-day lives are slipping away, and they're taxing you for the privilege of waving goodbye to those freedoms.

Has anyone thought of downsizing Government to make it more energy efficient?

You are exactly right, Lily. Socialism is merely communism by degrees. The climate change agenda is just a scam designed to justify the gradual imposition of tyrannical communist control. We are fighting it here in America. It's heartbreaking to see what is happening to the people in Europe. You are very brave to speak 👏 out against this injustice.
