This is how Abhishek built an $11K/month SaaS by copying an existing $100M company.

I found people selling themes for a web app that has a $13 billion valuation. I dumbed down that ONE sub-niche to the bare min and built a web app. That's all I do for app ideas. Example, you could literally pick apart every Photoshop tool and convert each tool (69 tools/website ideas) to an individual web app that targets ONE niche. Make your web app have ZERO learning curve which is the opposite of Photoshop (example). Trust me, it's easy money and there are thousands of over complicated apps to pick from for ideas, even offline apps can have tools that can be built online.

Why don’t you ask them about how they got their users? You used to ask about their marketing which is the most challenging part..not building the micro saas

I just want to say this is probably my favourite youtube channel right now, as each video is SO SPECIFIC to what I'm working on in the background and short to the point! keep going, you definitely found your audience. Definitely more focus on marketing and how they got their first users / did they use ads / etc go more detailed on marketing side please in future episodes, its easy to build a product its hard to get customers.

Sometimes, you can also think about if you were to build the Major SaaS product your way, what would be a better approach to solve the pain points. If you build the idea small and first and add features as you go it's much less daunting. Some of these major apps cannot pivot away from their pain points because their users are entrenched in the current version technical debt. Escaping this would drop userbase, and if shareholders are involved its no longer an option. So the key takeaway is the larger competitor most likely cannot shift their product to compete effectively with your easier to use model. So make sure you legally cover your bases and protect the app with good code security, and trust the market to do the rest.

Building now is easy, comparatively. I would spend more time on asking deeper questions about their marketing.

NEVER EVER SHARE YOUR IDEA that you think will do great - LEARN TO DO IT, YOU WILL FAIL but with the tech available today, YOU CAN SOLVE THE STUFF by most importantly understanding along the way!

Folks! PLEASE READ this guy has a course designed for you to pitch your saas idea and in return he will share and copy it for HIMSELF. Do not fall for it. If you have million dollar idea keep it to yourself!!!

100M company can post unlimited ads and receive profit, while 10K can't because profit margin is too small. As an example we can name Airtable which advertises like a hell and Memento database which does not have money for ads.

Great strategy. Take what's already validated and build a better, cheaper version ❤

I really wish this video had existed when I first started. I built an entire social media platform that had the potential to compete with Facebook in the market, not just another copy but it's really have some of the unique features that people never seen again and it's really have that potential to compete with but people just weren’t interested. With zero investment and no support, then I quit. Now, it only serves to strengthen my resume otherwise, it’s completely worthless.

This person is absolutely right don’t try to built an alternative to a major social media platform or a marketplace. I really wish this video had existed when I first started. I built an entire social media platform that had the potential to compete with Facebook in the market, but people just weren’t interested. With zero investment and no support, then I quit. Now, it only serves to strengthen my resume otherwise, it’s completely worthless.

Patt PLEASE LISTEN!!
if your guest do not discuss initial marketing success do not bring them in. They are ruining your podcast. You have already established how easy it is to find ideas and build them but now you must focus on indie marketing or else we are getting no value

DON'T FALL FOR IT !!! I am building a micro saas myself with no code tools and trust me you it is harder than you think. This guy is showing stories of these people in such a way that it creates FOMO for missing on this no code micro saas opportunity meanwhile even a slight complex functionality would need to be coded. He portrays building saas as a cake walk just for you to realise it is hard and you see him marketing his course . For this feels more like a funnel .
