The best part about the "Wouldn't download a car" is that if people could actually download working cars they 100% would do that shit.

Big businesses ask us not to pirate their stuff, but they pirate information about us and sell it.

The hardest bar I've heard from a game developer on Twitter was, "culture shouldn't only be available to those who can afford it", and it hits hard especially for people whose parents couldn't afford every new triple AAA game or had to wait to major events to ask for a video game (e.g. birthdays, Christmas, etc.). I don't like that OFFLINE SINGLE-PLAYER games need to have online connection, it's just annoying as a consumer, in general.

Pirating is basically game preservation at this point.

Paying £80 for the standard edition of a AAA game that isn't even finished properly, and is full of bugs is a crime in itself.

The beef between empress and skidrow was hilarious never thought I’d see you cover pirated games I don’t do it myself but it’s super interesting.

In my country... there are no real laws about downloading copyrighted goods without a license.

In my country the monthly salary is around $300, and AAA games cost around $50-$70. Games are very expensive, that's why people prefer to pirate games or buy them when they're on sale, which means I have to wait 1-3 years to buy and play the game.

Piracy will never be wrong as long as corporate greed exists.
$70 for a game? That's someone's salary in a lot of countries
The guys who go out of their way to make these things available are the real heroes.
Yes, taking what doesn't belong to you is wrong morally, but so is making a controlled system that doesn't benefit the consumers.

As someone who archives old Japanese mobile phone games, I am thankful that you mentioned preservation. Even though a lot of things can be obscure, like what I work on, history shall be saved.

Nowadays, Pirated games has integrated Multiplayer servers so you can play with other pirates in different games. Not every game but this feature is rolling out slowly

I feel Ubisoft single handedly showed/proved why piracy is good with what they did with The Crew.

In my opinion, piracy emerged from the growing need for game preservation and access. Some people just can't access certain games in their countries, or game companies simply stop selling those games for no reason most of the time. This with the new ideology of not owning your games that you PAID for simply makes piracy a more justified act. Again, you've probably heard it but I'll say it again: "If BUYING isn't OWNING, then PIRACY isn't STEALING".

Pirating EA and Ubisoft is always more morally and ethically correct than giving them any money

As an underage person, being a pirate is my whole LIFE. I don't know what I would be doing with basically no games otherwise.
I'm not in the US so heck yeah.
