TPU is magic! The ability to model and print soft parts is opening up a whole new design space for the Marble Machine, solving many long lasting issue...

8:36 yes but when you remove material from under the tpu track you flex the material, which in turn closes the walls on the marbles adding lots of friction, you need to either make the tpu track a bit more wide or to print the walls of the tpu track slanted away from the marble so when it flexes it will sit upright and not add friction

Man who cannot stop going down rabbit holes has finally gone down the 3d printing rabbit hole in earnest. I'm so proud.

The other benefit of your dual-material marble divider: TPU is quiet because it's so flexible, but because it's so flexible it may not retain that perfect geometry that allows the marble divider to function with a lot of use. But using a TPU liner with a rigid shell ensures consistent shape and is still quiet. And yes, it does look amazing.
Keep up the great work Martin!

What I've gathered throughout this project is that, one can only imagine Sisyphus happy.

The only one going on a world tour here is the Bambulab's marketing team sending printers to every maker on Youtube.

I know Martin doesn't read the comments but for anyone using carbon fiber filaments, wear gloves! Tiny fiber ends poke out from the layer lines and can get embedded into your fingers. It itches really bad and washing doesn't help.

TPU is awesome indeed, just keep in mind when performing on a stage and it's a hot summer day everything will bend out of shape as TPU really quickly starts changing shape with a little raise in temperature risking the whole marble machine to start malfunctioning, which would really be a shame.. Better to prototype with the TPU but cast the shapes for the final product into a 3d printed mould with some 2 component silicone. I did this before and works like a charm.

9:10 Just a caution with CF filament, as the plastic starts to wear down, the small carbon fibers might start to get exposed and potentially become a handling hazard/irritant.

Man you have gotten so good at quick and dirty but super functional prototypes. It's honestly an art form. You continue to inspire. Plus I just adore your attitude.

Ahh, that sweet sweet sound of marbles being divided. Why can't we just all get along?

If you are having trouble with floor marbles, I recommend using Ivan Miranda’s setup of running string around the edge of the table so they don’t fall. Long time fan! Keep it up!

Loved at 2:25 when the video turned into one of those infomercials where people are awkwardly fumbling around with appliances.

Floor marbles appear at 5:22. "Sorry you have to see this", he says after setting up the camera on the floor to make us see it. I guess we REALLY had to see it, and I guess you were right!

This video shows exactly the way I felt after designing and printing a custom part I needed for around the house. When you plan, draw, print and see the part actually does what you want... it's such a great feeling!

Isn't it funny how a person can struggle along with minimal progress day after day and then one day it all comes together. I am both happy for you and very proud of you for the mature systems that you have achieved!

When I'm watching your videos I always notice part way through that I've been unconsciously smiling for a while. I love your passion for this project.
Also, I'm glad you mentioned the open source issues with Bambu lab. I have a QIDI plus 4 printer which runs on open source firmware and from what I've experienced and from the reviews I've seen it has the same smooth reliability as the bambu printers have had for ages.
After 10 years wrestling with my kit printer I can finally focus on the product over the process, as you put it.

Your checklist just saved me hours. I have struggled with my printer, and you just showed me my problem and solution.

Taking advantage of tolerance stacking is one of my favorite design features to see out in the wild. There are quite a few instances out there of that rubber banding effect using nothing but the thing that all machinists hate dealing with. To me it’s the pinnacle of that saying “It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!”
