The moment they announced the Japan trade deal I knew it was all BS. Japan was going to invest $500 billion into the US and the US was going to take 90% of the profits? Japan was going to invest 1/8th of its entire GDP into the US and take home 10%? An economy that has been stagnant for 30 years and is notoriously risk adverse? Really? If you believed that, I have a bridge to sell you.

There have been NO trade deals. Basically, every other country has said, "We need time to think about your proposals" and You Know Who calls that "a deal".

I was talking with a friend, and he was saying how "trillions are going to be invested here". I looked at him and I said, from where and who and reminded him that it is one thing to SAY you're going to do something vs actually doing it and I will believe it when I see it.

In Australia we have "opened the market" for American beef. The problem is that we won't buy it. It is less quality, more expensive and hard to conform to Australian standards so in effect it means NOTHING.
