And in 18 years, that 1M Euro will be 675K of today's money, so you'll need to focus to 1.5M to have a 1M of today.

If an average millionaire becomes one in the age of 57, it might be heavily connected to getting inheritance from the parents and not only saving/investing scheme ))

Where do you get 9% average return to investment after taxes with a low risk portfolio in Europe? I’d say this is borderline impossible. In my country, Denmark, any capital gains are taxed at 28%, this alone eats a huge chunk of the income.

working more hours does not really work in europe as we have alot of taxes on higher pay brackets. So trying to earn more money by working harder as others will make you earn more money but it will be in a higher tax bracket so you receive way less of it to spend.

I have the impression that even after learning the fundamentals, investing in Europe is still very country-dependent. Moving borders or being hired to work in a different country can significantly change your investment strategy. I would like to find some resources that discuss investment strategies in Europe for a person who would likely keep moving countries until a later age.

Hi, Tom, don't you want to make a more in-depth dive to European vs American index providers (MSCI, FTSE, Solactive, STOXX) and ETF providers (Blackrock, Vanguard, Wisdom Tree, Amundi, UBS, SPDR etc). What are the differences of there's anything major? Is this something we should pay attention to when investing? Is there any upside if I chose Amundi for eg as European or it's nothing but a patriotic act sprinkled with marginally lower TER?

Great to hear your story! I’m from Latvia as well. Right now, I’m working a 9–5 in the Netherlands, but I hope to move back one day.
