Pro tip: bring a JBL speaker and play bird noises. Birds singing tells trackers that no one has been there recently. You have until the first Youtube ad plays, then, your screwed.

I just imagine a guy on a hike seeing you running through the woods evading "enemies" and him wondering 'wtf is he running from, should I start running too?'

You know, I love this series. But what I REALLY want to see is Mike doing his SERE stuff while he has a "platoon" of other gun tubers out in the same bit of wilderness trying to hunt/track him... It would genuinely be the coolest video on the entire platform. They could use Simunition or T4E guns and have Mike go from one point to another objective while evading the patrol. Then, he could demonstrate getting his "family" (or just other people in a hideout) out of the area to evade the hunters/trackers.
What a wild culmination video that would be.

I was an infantryman in a dismounted reconnaissance unit in the 10th Mountain. I haven't found anything i disagree with. One thing to remember. A vehicle is typically concealment unless you've got the engine between you and the enemy. And enough gunfire will eventually chew through that. Also. Rain is the perfect weather for movement.

He's spot on about not knowing you're injured. I was an EMT in the 90s and responded to a mutual aid call. I treated a guy who was walking around after his van flipped off an icy overpass, onto the road below (landing upside down, he crawled out). He said he was fine. We did a standing long board and sent him off to the hospital anyway. He had a broken neck and he didn't know it.

My dad taught me: SSSSR.
shape, sound, shadow, silhouette, smell, rhythm: Make none of them human.
Not sure if the last was time or rhythm, but it was how long you move, how long you wait between movement, how fast you move. It is easy to vary speed and distance, but you tend to fall into a rhythm on when you moved, and regular movement stands out.
