In the second episode of this three-part series, we witness how rumours spread "faster than Wi-Fi", causing disputes among inmates. With the help of her cellmates, Joanna tries to avoid self-harming. Separately, Halen has to try to control her temper to avoid getting a report from the officers. What does it take to hold it together in the women's prison? We track peer supporter Christeen as she manages the difficult younger inmates, and Haziqah as she tries to pull through a break-up with her fiance while incarcerated.

The part where the woman was talking about her mother having dementia, and how the stress of caring for her was so much that she relapsed, hit home hard for me! When my mom started showing the very obvious signs of dementia, and started becoming a different person, is actually when my use of my prescription benzodiazepines (very addictive anti-anxiety medications) escalated and quickly became a full-blown addiction. I’d had addiction problems with prescription pain meds before, but was sober from those for a long time. But I don’t have good coping skills, and I can confirm that watching a loved one losing his/her mind and personality and become completely dependent on others for care is so heartbreaking and stressful, it’s easy for those of us who have a predilection for addictions to use drugs to escape the shock and pain.

Christeen's story bothers me the most! Singapore doesn't mess around with trafficking. She hardly seems like a kingpin and for a first offense, that's rough! Then again, we're only hearing her side of the story!

Interesting presentation. It seems these women have been turned into a sort of child-like state, encouraged by young but very patronizing prison staff.

The name "Changi" is chilling. It was a famous WW II prison for prisoners of the Japanese. I can't imagine being incarcerated there today.

Everybody deserves a second chance, yes, it's stressful in this environment. We all fall into depression at times, but what keeps us going is the support from family and friends. When we are in need of help, we need to ask for help from the correct person. I keep my problems to myself, and I do long walks, run, or cycle for hours to relieve my stress. Someone told me a strong body, strong mind. I guess sports helps me to take away the stress and I believe that everyone can do it.

Stay in school, no matter how tough it is. There are many paths to educate yourself. Education is your way out of your predicament. Do not mix with the wrong crowd, no matter how enticing. Instill that in your children.

I had a call center job for 2 years after I got a bachelor's degree! Talk about depressing. I got belittled all the time, but I had to suck it up. This prison is nicer than my first apartment, and they eat better than I did! I slept on the floor too. These women seem really weak.

Jesus is the answer. The "blank" that you're trying to fill with the distractions of this world, is the void of not knowing God as your Maker, not knowing Jesus as the one that paid for your sins on the cross. Repent and look to Him for Salvation!
