I never thought I would see Linus dropping an AC one day. What a time to be alive.

Linus the GOAT for real, went from dropping tiny SSDs to dropping whole-ass AC units

I have actually tried something similar when i was younger and i added an inline fan (in between the AC and the PC) to boost the airflow and made it significantly more efficient

The only real downside is those single hose ACs are WOEFULLY inefficient. You're taking a ton of conditioned air from the room and blowing it outside, meaning hot outside air has to leak in to replace it. Dual hose models or regular window ACs are drastically more efficient. Alec from Technology Connections explains it in far more detail than I could here, but as someone who's used these units (dual and single hose) as my primary AC in the past, there's a night and day difference.

Jordan with the exhausted dad energy having to deal with a hyper active kid (linus) and the fitting one liners, love it

Where's Technology Connections with an explanation on the refrigeration cycle and the magic of latent heat of vaporization?

I remember another YouTuber just made the air inside the case be entirely guided with tubes, no AC just normal fans. It looked like a car engine, and worked pretty well.

This was significantly better than some of the other recent sponsor spotlights. Super fun, technical and tight, and very fun, without overfocus on the sponsor. Thanks for listening to feedback, it really shows!

Reminds me of Apollo 13 when they had to modify the CO2 scrubber.

The original inventor of the air conditioner invented it to reduce humidity in a print shop as ink was smudging during humid months. The people who worked in the print shop loved the cooling effect and the inventor realized he had targeted the wrong market and put one in a movie theater.
All that being said, I don't think condensation inside the machine will be an issue. That cool air should be rather dry, but condensation on the cold surfaces that are interacting with normal, moist, room air clearly are experiencing condensation.

Hey! My dad used to do this!
He used to live in minnesota during the 90's, and he'd hook his intake fans up to a window and get crazy cold temps!

I had an HP laptop - one of those ones with the wacom screen built in so you could use it as a tablet except it was heavy and idled at 70C. Only way i could get it to run properly all day was to tape it so the air intake was directly on my air conditioner. Got it down to 33C
