You weren't misled to Maimuna tribe, your guide was just scared of the Korowai tribe. He saved your life...

Yeah dude, i think your guide taking you to this tribe was a good idea and was a lot more interesting. A auspicious outsider coming to visit a cannibal tribe that burns and eats anyone they SUSPECT to be a demon could easily end in disaster. This tribe you can actually feel relaxed and not worry about being analyzed if you're a demon

Your guide knew what was up. He probably felt that taking you to the tribe that really does get down with cannibalism wouldn’t have been the best idea…Granted it’s not the tribe you wanted to go to…but it may have been the safest. I’m glad you chose to stay and learn about them❤️

I'm so happy that I found the source of the folksong I saw in shorts. 13:25 they sound so good. As a folk musician, this is really cool to listen to.

Someone needs to document the singing/music of this tribe. It is incredible and should be studied and immortalized

The singing man walking over the bridge with his child upon his shoulders truly humbled me. His voice is majestic and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Beautiful 😊

This is truly incredible. It always feels remarkable how easily humans from completely different walks of life can connect over music and food. No understanding of the language needed, just that immediate connection.
I really love that you made the point at the end about how all humans are fundamentally the same, we have the same needs and often share the same core values: family, love, community, happiness, health…no matter where we come from and what our culture is.
Videos like this are a great reminder that there is more that joins us than divides us if we’re willing to observe, learn, share, respect, and just seek to understand one another as humans.
While society may call these tribes uncivilised- look how readily they welcomed a complete stranger from the western world despite them being exposed to western people very little. And then compare that to how many in the western world ostracise those from other countries, races, religions; cultures despite us having shared space with them for such a long time. I know which feels more civilised to me.

Martin is smart! He mislead that man on purpose to keep him safe! He knows the tribe more than any other tourist would and the potential danger of the tribe. This also lets them clear their name and educate people of their culture and the differences. Beautiful video! ❤

What lovely people to welcome you into their homes with smiles like that. I think, while it may have upset you, your guide did his job splendidly.

Thank you for "taking us to the jungle with you and meet this tribe"! Thank you for sharing your experiences and adventures with us!
You are so brave to have traveled there ALONE without any way to contact the rest of the world while you were there!
I am adventurous myself and I love to travel and meet people from different cultures and values and traditions...but I don't think I can do what you did there.
It really takes unbelievable bravery, courage, and trust to do what you did!
I also love your message to us at the end of the video!
Much respect!
"Just go"!
(Where can I get that shirt? So cool!)

We can't call these people primitive or poor. They are perfectly adapted to their environment and look healthier than most people living in western cities. They don't have all the material possessions that are a burden to us, and they have close friends and families giving them what is most important in life - Love.

As a Papuan, Thank you for step in and showing this documentary of my people to another area of the world. We (as indigenous people) are very kind and very welcome towards new people as long as you are with another local and being accepted by the head of the tribe.. If you come with good intentions, The mother earth of Papua will be with you.
I want to highlight that "not all tribe eat human in Papua", Most of them already are getting influenced by Church, so they are more open to outsiders.
Again, Thanks alot drew. Hope you'll be visiting again for another amazing tribe in Papua! 💕
