I am a young Salvadoran and the country has changed drastically since President Bukele took office. Before him, there was a lot of crime and you couldn't go anywhere for the same reason. The gangs and the previous governments were corrupt, but since President Bukele took office, there has been great peace and tranquility in the country. Although some organizations say that the treatment of criminals is wrong, these organizations that protect rights do not know what it was like not to be able to go out on the streets and not feel safe or know If only you could get home alive, the president's term has been a drastic change for the better and only a true Salvadoran who lived through the country's darkest years knows that this term What we have so far has been the best thing that has ever happened to us and now we have gone from being the most unsafe country in the world to one of the safest. Greetings from El Salvador and thanks for making the video ❤

The fact that the 2 opposing gangs are put in the same cells and remain peaceful is the ultimate sign of defeat

As a salvadoran living my whole life here I can confirm this people is the worst thing that my country suffered, seeing corpses on the road everyday, being involved on street shootings, hearing they killed somebody you used to love, being afraid of visiting family or friends, all that was the life of average citizen, but now seeing them incarcerated gives fresh air to the streets of my little country

This documentary has shown me just how invaluable my freedom is. I can go outside, have personal space, spend time with people, etc. I understand that this prison was built for the worst of the worst but it was still really eye opening. Gave me more to appreciate.

My uncle, who moved to El Salvador a decade ago was ruthlessly killed in a homicide back in 2016. My gratitude, and respect to the gaurds, cannot be expressed for their hard work. My uncles resting grave is maintained by my family, and i wish to see him in the after life one day. These criminals deserve no mercy nor the slightest glimpse of respect.

Sometimes I feel depressed or "stuck" in life, sometimes even ungrateful. And then I watch this and realize I'm about to turn the lights off and go to sleep on a comfortable mattress I have all to myself, in a room where I can adjust the temperature and air circulation. Then i get to wake up and decide what to eat for breakfast and how I'm gonna spend the day.

Wow I haven't seen anything as powerful as this in years on Youtube! This is some of the best, cleanest journalism of all time... So raw and emotional

the scary thing is, the guy who he interviewed looked the most harmless out of everyone, but was the scariest of them all.

Hello Ruhi Çenet, I am from El Salvador and I am glad that you took the time to visit and see for yourself the people who caused so much terror in the population for a long time. Only we Salvadorans know the step that Nayib Bukele took to make what is today a largely crime-free country. Greetings and thank you very much for so much informative content.🇸🇻
