i'm a carousel operator and i worked a party recently where the birthday girl was running around in a puffy pink dress with a zookeeper plushie in her arms. she was so attached to that thang. it took so much self control for us to keep it together around her because the image was so funny and ridiculous. shoutout to zoonomaly birthday girl i hope you grow up to make your own horror games

For me one of the biggest examples of wasted potential in this game is the lightbulbs. This couldve been a game where your only method of defense would come at the cost of some of your visibility,as the game progresses, you'd slowly but surely lose light until you're surrounded by darkness, which could be terrifying if it was utilized properly

I barely knew this was a game. When the models started getting spammed on the Gmod workshop, I assumed they were just another subset of awful Poppy Playtime, garten of banban, etc, fan models. It's not any better than I expected of course, but it's amazing that it was a genuine thing.

Part of the “popularity” for this game was people clicking it thinking it was zoochosis 😅 So people weren’t clicking the videos because they were interested they were confused. I saw SO many comments outraged that it “wasn’t like the trailers” because they mistook it for zoochosis.

the jumpscares look like theyre either biting the air or giving you head and im so confused

funniest thing about the cloning zookeeper is that there is no reason why he would be spawned in a what that allows that to happen, like legit hes a persistant threat that follows you wherever you go that should be a singular object thats sometimes teleported around when needed not a prefab to be spawned in

There's a YouTuber 3FS that completed the last boss fight in this game without knowing you could stun the creature with the support beams. He didn't even know he wasn't doing it right and he succeeded. He's always doing stuff like that. Not knowing about game mechanics and then working around them.

I think that the Lightbulbs acting as ammo is really clever. Removing lights for ammo, making seeing the enemies harder is very cool. In a better game, it could be stellar game design. I hope the Dev improves and and makes something with this mechanic again, or someone makes their own remake, like Unique Geese's Ban Ban remake.

The most i seen of Lanky Box is them reacting to Jim's Computer's Ending and freaking the fuck out trying to figure out how to spin it so it's kid friendly. I think one of them had to resort to bringing up Doors while the other host is still stunned.

A little detail I like in the game is how the light from your gun makes it look like the monsters have pupils the closer they get to you.

A couple of things that would make this game really cool, is if each animal in the park had unique behaviors that you had to learn and exploit. Say, the smile cats only become aggressive if you turn your back on them, the chimps only become aggressive if they are in a group, things like that. Another I would do, is make it so taking a lightbulb to reload your gun actually removed it from the light source you took it from, so every piece of ammo you took darkened more of the map, and the zookeeper could only move in the dark: now you have to balance how much ammo you take with how much "territory" you're giving the zookeeper.

I cannot hate zoonomaly. I once had a (very brief) job working as a teaching assistant of sorts (very long story) in this public school, and while supervising lunch, this boy saw that I could draw and asked me to draw “zoonomaly”. I looked it up, went “ah. It’s one of those” and then went ahead and made some redesigns of a few of the characters, making em a bit more realistic while keeping to that weirdo aesthetic. I think i did the elephant and the zookeeper? N a few other animals I cant recall. The kid loved it.

not having guys jumpscare you while in the safezone is as easy as setting a bool when youre in a safezone and making sure the jumscares are done after that check, the text that shows up when in the safezone shows that the first bit is already in the game and the fact that the camera isnt choppy as shit shows knowledge of update order, this is comically easy to fix and would be picked up instantly in testing.

Hey, I'm a game dev and have worked in the same engine used for this game for over 6 years. Just to shed some light on the audio from the enemy(This is a common mistake and lesson early devs learn later than sooner, myself included): When you spawn in audio regardless of which node you use, you NEED to adjust the Sound Cue settings for it to behave as expected. Simply dropping in an audio file doesn't tell the engine where it should play, how it should play, or the reach of the audio, and the fallout from the end of the audio clip is by default abrupt.
