In German this is not called a "Junkers" (Junkers is a company name and this company produced more planes.) Its called a Stuka. Which is an acronym for STurz KAmpf Bomber. Which translates to DIve FIght bomber. In theory this is a name for a type of aircraft: a dive bomber. But in reality "Stuka" was only used for the JU 87.

My brother was a jet engine mechanic in the USAF and worked on the A-10. If they are retiring these airplanes, they definitely should be given to Ukraine.

My wife's father worked on them for Hortas in Poland. He says theyre phenomenal. They can load 2 tons of pesticides, which make place for fuel and weapons. And their stall speed is VERY low even when fully loades (armed). He even swears they had hard points for cloud-seeding. The comparison with Stuka is totally legit: when spraying crops you start with a dive onto the border of the field, recover (fully loaded!!!) and spay low. At the end you pull up, make a torque-turn and spray the next row. Thaddäus swears they are unbreakable.

The Crop duster here is not a one off. A similar aircraft exists in the US, supposedly for Special Ops support. The AT-802U Sky Warden or OA-1K Skyraider II in this case.

One of the problems with the MIG 29 is that it's very thirsty and can only loiter for a short period. A propellor driven plane will be able to loiter for extended periods.

We have just retired the training jet Saab SK60 here in Sweden, weird that a few of those haven´t found their way to Ukraine, i belive it could be useful for shahed drones and surveillance. Awesome yet old jet

The Brazilian Super Tacano is a great trainer, a 2 seater…but a bit expensive. Ukraine should work with Canadians who have terrific expertise in small aircraft.

Drone defence isnt something A-10 was designed for, it was not designed to fight aircraft at all. I feel like interceptor drones are the best horse to bet on rn.

It's as R 73. The Zlin Z-137 Agro Turbo agricultural aircraft equipped with R-73 IR-guided air-to-air missiles might be used as a drone hunter.
