This map is insanely accurate. As someone who loves mountaineering, I recognized these mountains instantly and they look just like irl. Even the camps are in the correct locations. Very impressive!

One thing about that map, it's actually HALF scale which is insane. Also, the fact the mountains block out the sun even early in the day is accurate--they really do tower impossibly high, you have to crane your neck to take it all in.

I do some amounts of mountaineering / high altitude trekking. The feeling of being very close but in reality being extremely far is very realistic and often happens. What looks like a 2-3 hour climb can take upwards of 8. I believe they made this map using publicly available altitude / topographic maps of Mount Everest and somehow imported it. It would be very interesting if someone made a mod pack using ice axes, crampons, supplemental oxygen and some sort of altitude sickness effect. Super video 🙏

Something important to note about Mount Everest is that the starting point of climbing it is already 4000 meters (or in cinemraft, blocks) up above sea level. Still though, amazing video! Loved every part of it! ❤

13:14 These are all the flags and other trash left over time by climbers. Cleaning all that up is pretty much impossible and would only risk more lives, so we can't fix this very human mistake of polluting everything beautiful we touch, the summit of Planet Earth turned into a trash dump :)
Mt Everest is actually crowded. Right before summit you pass by a narrow strip where people are waiting in line to summit for up to hours. It's actually very dangerous because the snow underneath can just give in with some people actually falling to their deaths. When French YouTuber Inoxtag summited the mountain he actually did witness (and several other climbers) about 6 people falling because of this, I think there were actually 2 or 3 deaths.
The sensical solution is to severely limit access to the mountain, the best is actually to just not allow any climbers anymore. But the issue is that the sherpas often depend on this tourism (yes it's actual tourism) to just live every day. It's actually kinda depressing and sad, to think that such a high point on Earth transforms from an existential introspective on our place in the world to just another touristic place that is forced to attract too many people and decays over time.
