“What kills an idea is people’s urge to express their opinion.”
Quite beautifully said.

Jony is way more shy and anxious than I realized. I like his fierce honesty and conviction and appreciate his intense focused attention to detail. And he is so very English, which is endearing.

Somehow Jony Ive to me, is the voice of apple. The keynote presentation, with his voice and tone talking about the products released back then was very iconic.

When I opened my first package from Apple in the early 2000s I experienced exactly what Jony was talking about. Somebody cared.

Steve Jobs and Jony Ive are the reason I started caring about design at an early age, and how I learned that some products are “above” others, and how important design is.

If Jobs had not passed away breaking up this amazing duo, we'd be living in a different world

“You sense carelessness” - spot on. I sensed carelessness when I saw a white plug with my space grey MacBook Pro with a grey/black power cord. His presence is sorely missed at Apple by some of us.

I miss Steve, he was far from perfect but he was a real guiding force in technology. We have no one like him now. RIP Steve

this made me tear up. Absolutely wonderful and inspiring to hear that he and the Apple team aren't just making products, but deeply and sincerely care about "elevating and expressing gratitude to the species." Beautiful.

Jony Ive is a truly fascinating human being.
He genuinely cares about how people feel.
He’s even said it himself—he doesn’t care about himself when designing, but he deeply cares about how others feel.
For him, making people feel good isn’t just a nice outcome. It’s the very foundation of good design.
Maybe that’s why he left Apple—because somewhere along the way, parts of the company lost a bit of their human side.
I’m genuinely curious how much of his—and Steve Jobs’s—thinking still lives on at Apple.
And even more: how much of it is understood by the next generation of designers and employees.

This interview is an eye opener and really reassuring for me because Jony clearly has ASD, which I wasn’t aware of. My Youngest Son has it too and I can now show him that it is not something that will affect his life in a negative way. It will be a gift that will help him to focus on things that “normal” people are not able to. Thank you Jony 👍🏻
