Punctual trains made me laugh out loud. This is obviously written by AI or someone who never visited Germany.

The issue is that the German government won't truly invest this money. It will mostly be burned on bureaucracy, with the small remainder funding projects that have little to no return on investment.

German here. To everyone who makes fun of the railway’s punctuality:
In the past, the German railway was actually considered a model of punctuality. When I was young, we used to make fun of other railways, like those in France and Italy.
We even had the saying “As punctual as the railway,” which was used when someone arrived exactly on time. Those times are surely over, but the video is not wrong here.

What most people did not understand is that the 500 billion are spread over 12 years. Due to German bureaucracy, which ensures that part of the money is never even called upon, one could expect an additional 30 to 50 billion per year at best. There is a budget gap of 172 billion euros. To close this, there will be cuts in many areas. Furthermore, investments in infrastructure are being removed from the budget and instead covered by parts of the 500 billion. So they are not being used for new infrastructure projects at all. Essentially, only the absolute minimum is being done, which merely limits economic decline to a small degree. To actually have an impact, the debt is far too small to have any significant influence.

German here. I was trying to get a german international passport for traveling. I went there with my german passport on the only day they have open for working people (until 6 pm). The lady said to me: Your german passport is from a 30 kilometers away office (I moved to this village). She said she needs a birth certifacte because she does not trust diffrent local village offices. Its a normal german passport. I have to wait multiple weeks, pay and drove 2+ hours to my parents to get my birth certifcate from them just for a passport from my own gouvernment to leave the EU. If nothing changes germany will be a failed state in this centry.

11:42 On the subject of bridges. This is a political problem. If a bridge has to be renovated, the DB (Deutsche Bahn AG) pays for it. If the bridge is completely replaced, the state pays for it. The incentive to let the infrastructure expire is so massive that you do not invest in maintenance because the state replaces it for free.

Riddle me this, when economies develop to service based, shouldn’t the manufacturing still be there as the backbone? 🤷
