Its crazy they are shipping power 1000's without the update on them - unless you are somewhat tech savvy, I bet most people plug in their power dongle and see no power, and simply perhaps return both. Thanks for the video.

Thank you! I never would have figured out this procedure. I think I'm going to keep this power bank in my truck. You never know when you're going to need it.

Very helpful, especially the initial sequence of button presses on the powerbank before it would connect to the DJI assistant on my Mac. At first it just saw it as a power source rather than a USB connected devise.

Thanks for the video! For f's sake DJI should include a note or instruction in the box to let users know how to upgrade and enable the dongle usage.

I'm a Bit late to this party..
I am in Australia so we use 240V AC. The updating instructions, from DJI, say we should skip connecting to mains power source, with units set to anything other than 110/120/.. VAC.
Having done ALL the download/installing of the DJI Assistant 2 power...&c: and having the power 1000 in "LOAD" mode. Opening the app on my PC it just shows an animation showing to connect USB to the PC... Even after I HAVE done that. The DJI ICON never opens within the Assistant 2 (Power..) app. The Power 1000 has a countdown timer built in when using the LOAD mode. It last for about 4 minutes or so. Once it reaches zero it reverts to normal power ON mode. It reaches that time without ever opening the DJI logo in the PC App. I have tried a few times already. And, yes, I have tried having the Power 1000 plugged into the mains power, just in case. Still no go. Any suggestions?
So.. A thought: Does the dongle NEED TO BE connected to the Pwr: 1000 before this works? It's not mentioned anywhere if so. It just says that you can't use the dongle unless you do the update... not that it needs to be connected. I was going to wait to actually purchase the dongle AFTER I had updated the firmware on the Pwr; 1000...
OR, does it need USB C to USB C connection to the PC? I am using USB C on the P:1000 (In the correct USB C outlet!) to standard USB on my PC...
Signed,
Still Confused... 😅😉
* EDIT *: Never mind. It was the cable I was using. I found a USB C to USB C cable and connected from the Pwr 1000, to a Thunderbolt port in my PC. The PC accepted the Pwr 1000 immediately, and on starting the Assistant 2 app it opened the DJI Logo: again almost immediately. The update to the latest version, in total, took less than 5 minutes start to finish. Amazing. 🤯

Hi there, can you tell me if you can power up the generator from the app? Or do you physically have to turn it on?

Is updating the firmware necessary if you solely using it to charge, and don't plan on using DJI accessories? What are the benefits?

The download link is not working. I keep getting 404. Where else I can download the DJI assistant?
